 Not your Aveage Therapist:

Mark Power

Not a fixer. Not a shrink. Just someone who sees what others miss.
I’m Mark Power. Counsellor and Mental Health Practitioner, licensed through ACTA, with over 25 years walking beside people through the most defining and difficult chapters of their lives. I’ve worked in psych wards, prisons, Indigenous communities and in family homes. Places where pain shows up raw and healing has to be honest.
I didn’t climb the ladder of traditional therapy. I envisioned a more beautiful world. And began shaping it. By connecting with people and their sacred story. In every sacred conversation.
In every soul that found their way to me. Through every step of small rebellions and acts of radical acceptance, I walk alongside people amidst their setbacks, growth and eventual triumph. This is how the quiet work of rebuilding and reinvention is done.
And good people noticed...
In 2019, I was honoured with MacEwan University’s Distinguished Alumni Award. Not for playing by the rules. Instead, for helping people remember what they’ve forgotten:

A more beautiful life does exist.
Not in some far-off ideal.
In the wholeness we reclaim.

It’s not easy.
It’s not handed to us.
It’s real.
And it’s worth everything.

My deepest credentials reside in the lives I’ve helped bring back to life. Those who were misjudged, mislabeled and made to feel unworthy of healing.
I don’t decode egos or manage symptoms.
I honour pain. I fight for freedom.
Because people aren’t broken. They’re burdened.
This isn’t therapy designed to tame you.
It’s restoration. Of self. Of story. Of what makes each of us matter.
Your Life is Worth Fighting for.
If you’ve ever felt too much, believe yourself too weary or too far gone...
Welcome. You’re exactly where you need to be.

Stuck, but Ready to Fly
You weren’t made to be tethered.
You feel the wings inside you twitch, but lift-off seems dangerous.
So you spin, scroll, stall, repeat.
You’re not broken. You’re just waiting for permission to rise.
Yet flight begins the moment you stop asking.

Unwoven
You held it together when the adults came undone.
Now you carry chaos like muscle memory.
Relationships repeat like reruns. Trust feels like a trick.
You’re not failing. You’re surviving with knots you never tied.

The Burned Witness
You saw too much too soon, and now joy must pass through fire to reach you. You laugh, but it flickers.
You've soldiered on.
You’re not bitter; you’re burned.
You want to live again...without getting hurt.

Shattered
You rebuilt from ruins using what hurt you.
Pain became identity. Betrayal became familiar.
Yet shattered is not your identity.
You’re not your damaged. You’re what remains...
aching to be whole without having to fake it.
